Gyro Service (Gyro)  

Gyro Service in Drilling consists of using a gyroscope to accurately measure the orientation and trajectory of a wellbore, independent of magnetic interferences in the environment. Unlike conventional systems that use magnetic fields (such as Magnetic Survey), the gyro provides accurate data on the azimuth and inclination of the wellbore, making it ideal for operations where magnetic methods are unreliable, such as near metal facilities, offshore platforms, or in already drilled wells.

Features of the Gyro Service:

• Accurate Trajectory Measurement: The gyroscope measures the orientation of the wellbore in terms of azimuth (direction) and inclination, providing critical information for directional control.

• Independent of Magnetic Fields: By not relying on magnetic sensors, the gyro is useful in environments where magnetic fields are disturbed, such as in proximity to platforms, steel pipes or in formations with magnetic minerals.

• Flexible Applications: The gyro service can be used both during drilling (Gyro While Drilling, GWD) and after it has been completed, using tools that are lowered into the wellbore (gyro drop tools).
